The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience, though we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every requirement:Bachelor of Engineering with at least 13 years of experience delivering complex structural engineering projects across diverse sectors and building typologies in Australia and New Zealand. Experience or a keen interest in mass timber design is highly desirable. A proven track record of independently providing specialized structural technical input for both conceptual and detailed design. Proficiency in advanced digital workflows to achieve optimized design outcomes, along with experience using industry-standard software such as ETABS, RAM Concept, RAPT, and SpaceGASS. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively.

Join our dynamic Building Engineering team as a Principal Structural Engineer specializing in Defence Projects. We are experiencing continued growth and are seeking a highly skilled professional to make a significant impact. While we prefer candidates based in Adelaide, we welcome applications from Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane.

Your Role:

  • Serve as a Senior technical resource, offering expert advice to the wider team. Leverage your expertise in key building components such as stability design, basements, and structural steel framing, while leading the design of cost-effective post-tensioned concrete floors.
  • Utilize your experience with various construction materials to effectively collaborate with clients, architects, and builders throughout the design and construction phases of significant projects.
  • Oversee and refine design and delivery processes, ensuring high-quality, cost-efficient outcomes from the team.
  • Apply your technical knowledge to conduct quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings, while preparing detailed technical specifications.
  • Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary engineering team to review project deliverables and contribute to the development of engineering budgets and schedules that align with project objectives.
