Role overview
The Principal, Technology Due Diligence & Private Equity, leads client engagements in technology and M&A advisory. This role requires extensive experience in technology due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity consulting. Candidates should be comfortable managing both buy-side and sell-side diligence processes, with the ability to evaluate technology assets, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital value creation for private equity clients. Strong leadership and a client-focused approach are essential, as is the ability to assess technology risks and opportunities at a strategic level.
Main responsibilities
- Lead technology due diligence: Direct and conduct thorough technology due diligence for M&A transactions. Assess IT systems, software architecture, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, data management, and scalability for private equity and corporate clients. Oversee the Cuesta deal team to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
- Client advisory: Serve as the main point of contact for private equity clients and deal teams. Offer strategic recommendations based on technical assessments and deliver clear insights into technology risks and opportunities to support investment decisions.
- Private equity support: Collaborate with private equity partners to evaluate technology’s role in post-transaction integration, value creation, and growth planning. Ensure technology assets align with investment objectives.
- Technology risk management: Identify risks such as cybersecurity vulnerabilities, technical debt, software scalability, and integration challenges. Develop actionable strategies to address and mitigate these issues.
- Industry expertise: Stay informed on trends in enterprise technology, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, cybersecurity, and cloud computing to provide relevant guidance to clients.
