About the job

Join a Pioneering Organization

At Palantir, we develop cutting-edge software that transforms data into impactful decisions and operations. Our innovative platforms empower partners to create life-saving pharmaceuticals, anticipate supply chain challenges, identify missing persons, and much more.

The Opportunity

As a member of Palantir’s dynamic in-house legal team, you will play a key role in navigating legal complexities to ensure our continued positive influence in the world. In the position of Privacy Counsel, you will provide pragmatic, business-focused legal guidance on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other European data protection issues to various internal stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include evaluating legal risks, crafting risk mitigation strategies, and advising on intricate matters such as international data transfers, consent management, assessments of legitimate interests, and data subject rights. You will also articulate and convey Palantir’s stance on crucial data protection topics to both potential and existing clients, particularly concerning GDPR and other significant privacy statutes (EU AI Act, ePrivacy Directive, UK GDPR, CCPA, etc.). Collaborating closely with the commercial legal team, you will facilitate customer discussions and support complex negotiations effectively.

Our team thrives on creativity and collaboration, whether working independently or as part of a group. You will tackle challenging, time-sensitive projects with open-ended objectives, transforming them into tangible outcomes. By maintaining a broad vision while attending to crucial details, you will successfully oversee large, multi-phase projects, prioritizing team achievements over individual accolades. Your ability to distill complex information into clear insights will help you manage high-touch stakeholders in an ever-evolving environment.

You embrace the challenges of ownership, approaching problems with a solution-oriented mindset. Your empathy enables you to navigate a multifaceted organization with diverse audiences, particularly in high-pressure situations. You are prepared to dive into negotiations, becoming well-versed in the nuanced privacy aspects of contracts that allow Palantir to deploy its innovative technologies to address real-world issues. Passionate about creating and executing scalable systems, you strive to enhance both your impact and that of the in-house legal team over time.
