The internship requires a commitment of 4 to 8 months. As we reconstruct the chip fabrication process from the ground up, you will engage in significant and meaningful projects. Our engineering endeavors span multiple disciplines including structures, optics, robotics, heat transfer, physics, and chemistry. Interns join the engineering team to work on substantial, hands-on projects that impact Astranis satellites directly. Many past interns have contributed to hardware and software for the company’s first satellite, with several moving on to full-time roles at Astranis. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply for Associate Engineer positions instead. What You Will Do Work closely with engineers to design, build, and test satellite hardware and software. Design, evaluate, procure, assemble, and test structures, mechanisms, and bracketry for spacecraft, using a variety of manufacturing methods for both composite and metallic parts. Perform mechanical and thermal analyses on spacecraft systems. Integrate components and systems into spacecraft, collaborate on documentation, and help improve build processes for future projects.
