About the job
Saronic Technologies stands at the forefront of maritime innovation, committed to enhancing sea autonomy through cutting-edge solutions that streamline maritime operations using intelligent and autonomous platforms.
Job Overview
As the Production Engineering Manager, you will spearhead the development of the production engineering function essential for establishing and scaling shipyard manufacturing operations. Your expertise will guide the formulation of the build strategy, the crafting of production processes, and the alignment of vessel designs with facility capabilities.
You will act as the technical liaison among engineering, manufacturing, and facilities teams, translating ship designs into practical and efficient production plans. This encompasses defining strategies for block construction, heavy lift and transport engineering, and establishing the production rules that dictate the shipbuilding process within the shipyard.
A key aspect of your role will be the development and maintenance of the Facilities Production Manual, equipping engineering teams with the design constraints and manufacturing guidelines necessary to ensure effective production of vessel designs at Port Alpha's facilities.
Responsibilities
Production Build Strategy
Define and continuously refine the shipyard’s production build strategy, focusing on panelization, block construction, and erection sequencing.
Develop block breakdown structures and manufacturing strategies that align with facility capabilities.
Ensure that vessel designs are compatible with yard constraints such as crane capacities, transportation limitations, and assembly workflows.
Heavy Lift & Transport Engineering
Create engineering strategies for the lifting, transporting, and erecting of ship blocks and major components.
Design lift plans, rigging strategies, and transport methods for large assemblies.
Collaborate with heavy lift equipment operators and infrastructure teams to validate lifting and movement strategies.
Production Process Development
Establish standardized manufacturing processes for steel fabrication, block assembly, and erection.
Define production workflows, takt planning concepts, and throughput expectations.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in production practices.
