About the job

The Production Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient manufacturing of our solar panels. This position entails effectively managing personnel and schedules to achieve our production targets on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis. The Production Manager will collaborate closely with our Maintenance & Reliability and Quality Assurance teams to guarantee that each panel produced meets the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise all production processes and teams within the Burlington operations.
  • Direct the efforts of all production supervisors.
  • Strategically plan and execute the production schedule.
  • Establish, plan, and achieve all production objectives and goals.
  • Continuously review and adjust the production schedule as necessary.
  • Ensure timely completion of performance reviews for all direct-report employees.
  • Mentor and guide production team members to enhance their overall skills and competencies.
  • Manage both human and material resources to meet production goals.
  • Make key decisions regarding equipment use, maintenance, modifications, and procurement.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for production operations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to established operating procedures.
  • Implement and monitor health and safety procedures.
  • Set and uphold product quality standards.
  • Enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives.
  • Analyze production and quality control processes to identify and rectify issues.
  • Identify and implement enhancements to the production process.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed production reports.
  • Estimate and manage production costs.
  • Set and oversee production budgets, implementing cost control and savings initiatives.
  • Facilitate efficient collaboration and coordination between departments including Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse, and Management.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) focusing on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and labor hours per watt/panel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
