This pivotal role intersects building codes, Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA), digital modeling, software-driven structural analysis, and practical factory applications. You will be responsible for defining load-bearing mechanisms, optimizing factory transitions, and ensuring structural integrity for decades of use.Collaborating closely with architects, modeling teams, systems engineers, factory engineers, and external stamping engineers, you will transform structural engineering from a one-time project service into a scalable, repeatable product capability.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee Structural System DevelopmentEstablish standard structural assemblies for walls, floors, roofs, stairs, and connections, focusing on an ideal balance of strength, stiffness, cost, and manufacturability.Create design rules, load pathways, typical details, and tolerances for reusability across various projects and products.Integrate Design, Modeling, and ManufacturingCooperate with architects and modeling experts to translate architectural visions into structurally sound, factory-ready systems.Collaborate with the Onshape Modeling/FeatureScript teams to embed structural rules directly into models, automation processes, and shop documentation.Lead Structural Engineering InitiativesDevelop internal structural schemes and calculations for priority projects prior to submission to the Engineer of Record.Compile comprehensive and organized packages for external structural engineers and third-party inspectors, facilitating efficient review cycles.Enhance Feedback Loops Between Design, Factory, and FieldIdentify structural issues such as cracking, misfits, or tolerance discrepancies in the factory and field settings.Apply lessons learned from on-site experiences to refine details, standards, and rules to mitigate future occurrences.

Role Overview The Building Engineer I at LPC supports the daily operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of core building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. Working on site in Andover, MA, this role focuses on hands-on upkeep, responding to tenant needs, and learning from senior engineers to ensure safe and efficient building performance. Main Responsibilities Carry out scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections for building systems.
