Role overview
The Professional Water Resources Engineer (PE) will focus on a range of water resources engineering projects, supporting both study and construction phases. This position involves technical leadership, project oversight, and direct interaction with clients and regulatory bodies.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to water resources engineering projects during proposal, planning, and execution stages.
- Lead the development of conceptual, preliminary, and final construction design drawings for water control structures, flood mitigation, and water quality initiatives.
- Build expertise in stormwater analysis and design, including stormwater management plans, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, hydrogeology, climate data assessment, flood assessments, floodplain mapping and modeling, flood mitigation design, natural channel design, environmental compliance, and regulatory permitting.
- Conduct technical reviews and, as appropriate, seal engineering design drawings.
- Gain hands-on experience with stormwater management modeling tools such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and StormWise/ICPR4.
- Oversee all project phases from pre-construction to post-construction, coordinating fieldwork as needed.
- Provide peer reviews of reports and designs produced by internal water resources staff.
- Work closely with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to help meet project objectives.
