Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, civil engineering, or a related discipline. A minimum of 7 years of experience in cost estimation for large-scale construction projects. Strong analytical capabilities with exceptional attention to detail. Outstanding communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders. Up-to-date knowledge of local construction labor and material costs. Extensive experience in developing and estimating scopes of work for change orders. Ability to quickly identify discrepancies between independent cost estimates and contractor proposals. Capability to formulate scopes of work based on RFI/RFC responses and estimate costs independently from contractor proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare precise cost estimates for school construction projects, ensuring accuracy in financial analysis.
  • Examine project specifications, drawings, and documentation to create comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and various stakeholders to confirm project scope and requirements.
  • Utilize cost estimation software, including MS Excel and specialized tools, to enhance efficiency.
  • Research and assess potential material, labor, and overhead costs for project components.
  • Monitor and report on changes to project scope and evaluate their impact on budgets.
  • Contribute to project budget preparation and ongoing financial monitoring.
