As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the project manager and/or superintendent across various aspects of construction projects, including:
- Facilitating coordination with subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and the Independence Construction project team.
- Administering and ensuring compliance with construction contracts involving Owners, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Coordinating the procurement and delivery of materials and services for job sites in collaboration with the superintendent.
- Scheduling and managing project meetings throughout construction and preconstruction phases.
- Assisting the project manager with budget management, budget revisions, cost projections, and cash flow forecasts, including report generation.
- Reviewing and coordinating structural, architectural, and MEP drawings throughout project execution.
- Supporting change management processes and overseeing scope changes.
- Collecting and analyzing trade contractor proposals for scope modifications.
- Negotiating costs associated with changes to ensure fair pricing.
- Logging change management activities to the correct cost codes.
- Issuing subcontract change orders upon approval from the Owner and Project Manager.
- Managing the entire RFI (Request for Information) process, including initiation, response review, logging, and distribution.
- Overseeing the submittal process from initiation to approval, maintaining logs and ensuring team distribution.
- Keeping accurate and up-to-date logs for drawings, submittals, and RFIs at all times.
- Coordinating all project meetings with the Project Manager and other stakeholders.
