These initiatives empower DEP to maintain and enhance an exemplary water supply system.Our Water System Capital Program (WSCP) is responsible for the planning, design, and construction management of critical infrastructure upgrades and repairs within the Bureau of Water Supply. BEDC is dedicated to delivering a substantial multibillion-dollar capital program that supports the development of new infrastructure while ensuring the integrity and high quality of our water supply. This work encompasses DEP's vast network of wastewater treatment plants, dams, bridges, shafts, reservoirs, tunnels, pumping stations, ultraviolet disinfection systems, filtration systems, and associated facilities throughout New York City and its watershed.In pursuit of these goals, BEDC is seeking to recruit an Assistant Project Manager for the WSCP directorate, based in the upstate watershed. Under the direct supervision of the Accountable Manager, the chosen candidate will assist in overseeing water and wastewater system projects located within the watershed, which extends 125 miles north and west of the City. These projects may include dams, aqueducts, wastewater treatment plants, bridges, roadways, and other essential infrastructure initiatives. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and directing the implementation of design and construction projects in the NYC watershed. The selected candidate will monitor permit requirements and aid in resolving project-related issues. Additionally, the Assistant Project Manager will conduct thorough field condition surveys and prepare accurate reports based on physical observations.Moreover, the role entails a detailed review of contract documents, codes, and regulations, ensuring compliance with project requirements to identify any deficiencies. The Assistant Project Manager will actively engage in field investigations to explore alternative solutions that meet project objectives and collaborate with the construction management team to conduct inspections of construction activities. Attendance at all required environmental compliance meetings is mandatory.
