Proven experience in designing, implementing, and validating advanced motor and generator control algorithms for electric propulsion systems, employing both sensorless and observer-based control methods. Strong ability to develop and integrate interfaces between flight control computers, inverters for motor/generator systems, propulsion controls, and battery management systems. Experience collaborating with aerodynamics, structural, and flight control teams to optimize the performance of integrated propulsion systems. Competence in creating and sustaining control system architectures, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing environments and plant model development for motor/generator systems. Expertise in designing redundant fault detection, isolation, and recovery systems to ensure safe flight operations, particularly in handling motor/generator faults. Ability to conduct comprehensive system-level testing and validation of motor control algorithms and observers. Experience performing hardware-in-the-loop and iron-bird testing focused on the safety and performance of flight-critical systems. Support for flight testing activities and data analysis to validate control systems across the operational envelope. Collaboration with flight test teams to confirm propulsion performance throughout the flight envelope. Commitment to compliance with DO-178C (software), DO-254 (hardware), and other relevant aviation standards. Dedication to maintaining diligent configuration management of flight-critical control system software.
