ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are looking for a passionate Propulsion Design and Sustainment Engineer to join our dynamic team at Anduril. You will work in a cutting-edge environment to enhance our Air Breathing Turbojet Engine Technology. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in hardware or integrated product development, ideally spanning all phases of the product life cycle. You should have a strong technical acumen, excellent problem-solving capabilities, and a deep understanding of core engineering design and manufacturing principles. Enthusiasm for contributing to a growing team and participating in internal new product development and sustainment activities within the Propulsion Design Engineering Group is essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate smooth production onboarding and sustainment for new products transitioning to production.
- Collaborate with the System Architect to translate vehicle-level requirements into subsystem or component specifications.
- Procure, construct, test, and analyze both new and existing hardware against defined requirements, including maintaining Design Verification and Validation plans.
- Partner with manufacturing and R&D engineering teams to implement incremental product enhancements aimed at improving reliability, performance, and manufacturability.
- Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), parts, assemblies, drawings, and technical procedures for existing engine configurations under development or sustainment.
- Lead investigations into field failures or manufacturing/design issues, proposing changes and collaborating with responsible engineers for permanent corrective actions.
- Issue formal Change Requests and monitor their implementation while representing the design team in Change Control Board or Change Review Board meetings.
- Engage in Value Engineering activities and work closely with the supply base.
