The Purchasing Agent for the Hotel Department at Lindblad Expeditions manages hotel purchasing operations for both onboard vessels and off-site needs. This role involves handling vendor relationships, processing orders and requisitions, and ensuring invoices are closed on schedule in line with established procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain relationships with vendors to support hotel operations
- Process purchase orders and requisitions accurately and efficiently
- Ensure timely closure of invoices following company purchasing guidelines
- Manage a buying calendar for internal teams and third-party providers to guarantee prompt product delivery
Requirements
- Experience in global sourcing is highly desirable
- Strong negotiation skills
- Excellent communication skills for working with vendors and shipboard office teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience with purchasing or inventory software such as MXP is preferred
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and pay close attention to detail
- Self-motivated and resourceful, with a proactive approach and accountability for results
