The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving software quality across Jacobian’s platform. This Munich-based role works closely with developers and agile teams, shaping test strategies and setting clear quality standards.

Key responsibilities

Test design and automation

Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress and TypeScript in a behavior-driven development (BDD) environment.
Create and manage both manual and automated test cases for component, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Carry out exploratory testing for both frontend and backend services.
Apply design patterns such as Page Objects to ensure tests are maintainable and scalable.
Utilize AI tools to accelerate test creation, analyze coverage, and manage defects, supporting the development of AI-assisted QA automation.

Quality processes and collaboration

Collaborate with scrum teams to establish and uphold effective QA processes that ensure high software quality.
Lead and participate in three-amigos sessions to clarify requirements and define testable acceptance criteria.
Continuously refine QA methodologies and practices to enhance testing outcomes throughout the company.

Reporting and documentation

Manage test cases, plans, and execution cycles in Xray, ensuring coverage aligns with requirements.
Document and report defects using the designated tracking tools.
Prepare detailed test reports, metrics, and documentation for stakeholders and project teams.
Keep testing procedures, plans, and verification documents current as required by project specifications.

Mentorship and knowledge sharing
