QUALIFICATIONS:A minimum of 4 years of experience as a technician working with complex electro-mechanical assemblies. Proficient in navigating R&D tasks with minimal supervision (evaluate, design, procure materials, execute). Experience in building and troubleshooting cables and wiring harnesses. Familiarity with optical systems and integration processes is a plus.

ABOUT THE JOB

In this pivotal role, you will work in close collaboration with development and testing engineers to design and assess innovative optical systems tailored for diverse platforms, including airborne, maritime, and space applications. You will oversee the fabrication of high-quality electro-mechanical assemblies and manage the rapid prototyping process, ensuring that all projects are executed with precision and efficiency. Your troubleshooting skills and assembly expertise will be essential as you supervise internal prototyping resources and support external testing initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Collaborate closely with development and test engineers to construct and evaluate new optical systems for airborne, maritime, and space applications.
  • Fabricate and assemble high-quality, reliable electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Develop and implement integration and testing fixtures; setup and utilize existing testing equipment, monitor results, and report findings.
  • Manage internal prototyping resources, including mechanical and electrical fabrication tools.
  • Oversee R&D facilities and organizational management.
  • Occasionally travel to external laboratories and testing sites as required.
