About the job
At Reliable Robotics, we are pioneering safety-enhancing technology for the aviation industry, dedicated to saving lives. Our automated aviation systems aim to create a future where air transportation is not only safer but also more convenient, fundamentally transforming the movement of goods and eventually people across the globe. Our team comprises mission-driven engineers with extensive backgrounds in aerospace, robotics, and self-driving technologies, all working collaboratively to actualize this vision.
As a Radar Systems Engineer, you will join our innovative Radar Engineering team, consisting of a small, dynamic group of skilled professionals. We are tasked with designing, building, and testing state-of-the-art phased array radar systems from concept through to certified product. Emphasizing a culture of knowledge sharing and teamwork, we strive to make advanced radar technology accessible for widespread commercial applications, particularly in Detect and Avoid systems. This role will focus on pioneering new operational modes that enhance aviation safety.
Key Responsibilities
In your capacity as a Radar Systems Engineer, you will analyze phased array radar systems and create radar processing algorithms that facilitate short and long-range object tracking as well as radar image generation. Your involvement will span all stages of development, from conceptualization to production, designing algorithms in Matlab and Python, with implementation in C++ on hardware platforms. You will define system-level requirements for the phased array radar system and conduct trade studies in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Additionally, you will assist in integrating the radar system onto aircraft and support data collection and analysis during flight testing. You will be responsible for real-time radar algorithm processing on FPGA and DSP-based platforms.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
8+ years of hands-on experience in radar algorithms, radar system design, signal processing, and radar system integration and testing
Proficiency in C++, Matlab, and Python (preferably Python)
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes and resolve issues effectively
Experience in pulsed and FMCW processing algorithm development
