Qualifications

Late model equipment that meets Altom’s inspection standards. Valid CDL Class A License. Tanker Endorsement (N) – Required. Hazmat Endorsement (H) – Preferred (must obtain within 90 days of hire; assistance available). TWIC Card – Preferred (or must obtain after hire). Minimum 1 year of verifiable tanker driving experience. Must be at least 23 years of age. Clean MVR and a strong safety record. Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check. Dependable, safety-oriented, and capable of working independently. Willingness to work flexible schedules, including 24/7 operations if necessary.

Key Responsibilities

As an Owner Operator Driver at Altom Transport, you play a crucial role not just as a driver, but as a business owner and a vital partner in our operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Safe Transportation: Transporting chemical and petroleum products using tank trailers in compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Keeping your vehicle in prime condition to meet inspection standards and ensure long-haul success.
  • Loading & Unloading: Adhering to proper procedures for ISO/Flexi-Bag or Tanker operations during loading and delivery.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Accurately maintaining logs, submitting necessary paperwork, and following Hazmat regulations.
  • Customer Service: Professionally representing Altom Transport at all customer sites.
  • Business Management: Managing fuel purchases, trip planning, and scheduling to optimize revenue.
  • Ensuring a consistent workload by meeting mileage or hour requirements that contribute to the operation's overall success.
  • Availability for 24/7 operations as required.
