Role Overview
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) / Behavior Technician works one-on-one with children, primarily in home-based settings, but may also provide support in schools or clinics. Each technician follows ABA programs designed by a supervising BCBA, focusing on skill-building and positive behavior support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide ABA therapy under BCBA supervision
- Follow treatment and behavior intervention plans
- Record accurate session data and track progress
- Encourage development of new skills and positive behaviors
- Communicate updates and observations to the clinical team
Experience working with children, such as teaching, nannying, babysitting, or paraprofessional roles, can be helpful in this position.
Compensation and Schedule
- Pay: $20–$30 per hour
- Schedule: Full day hours
- Setting: Home-based cases
