THE ROLE

As a per diem Emergency Veterinarian at VEG, your passion for helping pets and their people will shine through, especially in their most desperate moments. We support you in becoming a confident and skilled ER professional, guiding your career towards new and exciting paths. Our culture emphasizes mentorship and continuous education, with resources like hands-on training, VEG Education programs, and unlimited emergency-focused continuing education opportunities. You will handle a wide range of emergencies, from standard cases to intricate surgeries, and provide care for all types of pets, including exotics. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to medical inquiries via phone.
  • Provide immediate care for patients as part of the VEG Triage and VEG Spikes, our innovative, client-centered approach that ensures timely consultations and allows families to remain with their pets.
  • Collect essential information including signalment, presenting complaint, vital signs, and perform physical examinations.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures such as ultrasounds, X-rays, blood tests, and biopsies as necessary.
  • Formulate diagnoses and treatment plans tailored to each patient.
