Role overview
This full-time, remote Assistant Controller position sits within the Group Finance team and is based in India. Reporting to the Financial Operations Director, the role covers a wide range of accounting activities, including cash forecasting, sales commission calculations, and ensuring accurate financial reporting with strong internal controls.
Main responsibilities
- Collaborate with billing, Customer Success Managers, and sales teams to finalize monthly revenue accruals and prepare deferred revenue calculations. Support audit and tax compliance related to revenue recognition and bookings.
- Oversee cost bookings, including supplier payments, trainer fees, payroll, and intercompany transactions. Ensure all costs comply with procurement policies and are properly allocated to cost centers and accounts.
- Prepare monthly payroll journals using data from payroll providers, ensuring payment activities meet audit and tax requirements.
- Record all Profit & Loss transactions with the correct accounting dimensions and review the monthly trial balance to identify and correct unusual entries.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations on schedule to confirm the accuracy and completeness of financial reports.
- Lead weekly group cash forecasting and assist with banking projects, such as streamlining bank accounts across different regions.
- Manage quarterly sales commission calculations and reporting at the group level, working closely with sales, billing, and commercial teams to ensure complex commission structures are handled accurately.
