About the job

Join Our Team:

The Sensors Division at Systems Technology Research (STR) is at the forefront of technology development for advanced sensor systems and platforms that bolster national security. Our team specializes in airborne, surface, and space-based radar, electronic warfare, underwater acoustics, hyperspectral imaging, and electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensing. We focus on creating full system prototypes, conducting experimental campaigns, and advancing next-generation technology components. Key technical areas encompass RF analog and digital hardware, acoustic hardware, signal processing algorithms, machine learning techniques, tracking and fusion, as well as real-time embedded processor implementations.

The Systems Autonomy, Analysis, and Modeling (SAAM) Group within the Sensors Division employs modeling and simulation (M&S) to assess system capabilities, develop enabling algorithms, and test integrated systems. Our focus is on the capabilities and limitations of ground, air, surface, and space sensing platforms, as well as resource management to ensure the survivability of U. S. air and space assets. We leverage emerging autonomy and artificial intelligence technologies within uncrewed systems to collect, fuse, and analyze sensor data across comprehensive systems, ensuring mission success. SAAM is dedicated to developing software and hardware tools, datasets, algorithms, and scenarios that inform and enhance both prototype demonstrations and operational systems. Our primary clients include Air Force, Navy, and DARPA research programs.

Your Role:

We are seeking a motivated Researcher to join our high-performing SAAM team, where you'll conduct large-scale simulations and analyses that inform critical national security decisions. Collaborating with scientists and engineers, you will design mission-relevant scenarios, extend and modify complex simulation frameworks, and derive actionable insights from simulation results. This position demands both hands-on technical development—such as coding new capabilities and integrating models—and analytical thinking to interpret results and effectively communicate findings to diverse audiences, ranging from program managers to senior leadership.

About Systems Technology Research
