Join our dynamic team at Essel Environmental, a leading Bay Area property management firm, as a Residential Maintenance Technician. You will be responsible for performing essential repair and maintenance (R&M) tasks across a diverse portfolio of historic apartment buildings in San Francisco. This role calls for a candidate with extensive multi-trade experience, exceptional customer service abilities, and the capacity to work autonomously while effectively supporting residents and our internal teams.
The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining organized workspaces, communicating clearly with tenants, and delivering superior repairs across various residential building systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Address maintenance service requests across multiple apartment communities in San Francisco.
- Diagnose and repair residential heating systems, including:
- Top-vent wall heaters
- Standing gas heaters
- Radiator and hydronic systems
- Electric and baseboard heaters
- Conduct plumbing repairs such as:
- Fixture replacements
- Water heater troubleshooting and repairs
- Piping and radiator system diagnostics
- Perform electrical repairs, including:
- Installing fixtures
- Replacing switches, breakers, and receptacles
- Servicing electrical wall heaters and timers
- Repair and install drywall, cabinetry, countertops, and other interior finishes.
- Execute painting and surface preparation (both interior and exterior).
- Install and repair flooring, including LVP, tile, and wood.
- Move, install, and service household appliances.
- Carry out general groundskeeping and exterior maintenance tasks.
- Maintain clean and safe work areas at all job sites.
- Document work orders and communicate updates to residents and team members.
