As a Retail Store Manager, your primary objective is to enhance employee productivity while ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and established best practices. You will cultivate a customer-centric and results-oriented environment, mentoring and developing your team, including Associate and Assistant Managers, to foster individual growth and performance.
- Clearly communicate the corporate mission and goals within the store, aligning local operations with corporate expectations. Regularly follow up to ensure the successful implementation of company initiatives and provide constructive feedback to the Retail Manager as necessary.
- Collaborate with the store management team to identify and capitalize on business opportunities, meeting company standards in areas such as sales and wage budgets, sales per hour (SPH), units per transaction (UPT), conversion rates, expense control, shrink management, and profitability.
- Execute and exemplify company policies and procedures, ensuring best practices in Human Resources, Customer Service, Store Operations, Product Management, Loss Prevention, and Point of Sale systems are consistently applied.
- Achieve company targets in personal sales performance, monitoring metrics such as Sales vs. Budgets, Sales per Hour, and Units per Transaction.
- Maintain open lines of communication with the Retail Manager regarding market competitor activities and community insights that may influence business operations.
- Recognize and pursue opportunities for business growth or performance enhancement, collaborating with others to elevate overall business performance.
- Lead weekly management and staff meetings, actively participating in regional meetings to share insights and strategies.
- Emphasize the significance of building strong relationships with both internal and external customers. Ensure accountability among staff in nurturing a loyal customer base through exceptional service.
- Address and resolve customer complaints efficiently and effectively.
- Clearly convey all marketing and sales promotions to the team.
- Consistently foster a positive store atmosphere by treating all customers and staff members fairly and equitably.
- Uphold and enforce company presentation standards to ensure the brand is represented appropriately.
- Ensure adherence to best practices for visual merchandising and sales floor standards, conducting regular reviews to guarantee consistent execution.
- Conduct daily and weekly store walk-throughs to assess product performance, pricing, sell-through rates, and inventory levels. Communicate findings and any pressing issues to the Retail Manager to inform strategic decisions.
