Role Overview
The Revenue Accounting Manager leads daily revenue accounting operations in line with ASC 606. This position focuses on monthly revenue processing, deferred revenue management, accounts receivable journal entries, account reconciliations, and fluctuation analysis. Building relationships across departments is important for success in this role.
What You Will Do
- Review customer contracts and Salesforce opportunities for completeness and accuracy, ensuring revenue recognition follows GAAP and ASC 606. Prepare accounting memos to support revenue positions.
- Oversee parts of the month-end revenue close process, including creating journal entries, performing reconciliations, maintaining deferred revenue and revenue schedules by customer or vertical, and conducting month-over-month fluctuation analysis.
- Provide guidance to improve processes, supporting scalability as the company prepares for a potential IPO.
- Help maintain the ASC 606 revenue sub-ledger, including subscription, professional services, and billing sub-ledgers.
- Lead automation projects in revenue recognition and month-end close, using AI tools such as Claude AI and ChatGPT to improve accuracy and scalability.
