Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement controllers utilizing reinforcement learning, imitation learning, and other sophisticated AI methodologies to create fluid, adaptive motor behaviors. Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure the seamless integration of motor control systems with robotic hardware, taking into account real-world factors such as actuator dynamics and energy efficiency. Conduct both simulation and real-world testing to enhance and validate control algorithms. Stay informed on the latest advancements in robotics, AI, and control systems to apply innovative techniques to overcome robotic motion challenges. Required Skills & QualificationsEducation/Background: Ph. D. in Computer Science, Robotics, Computational Neuroscience, or related field; or relevant industry research experience (e.g., Master’s degree with 3+ years in an industry research setting). Technical Expertise:Deep understanding of kinematics and motion planning for humanoid robots. Experience with reinforcement learning, imitation learning, or similar AI techniques in robotic motor control. Familiarity with physics-based simulation tools. Proficient in programming languages such as Python and C++. Preferred QualificationsExperience with integrating perception systems (e.g., vision and tactile sensors) into motor control frameworks. Knowledge of hardware limitations and actuator dynamics for improved control strategies.
