About the job

At SpaceX, we believe in a future where humanity is exploring the stars, and we are committed to making that vision a reality. Our mission is to develop the technologies necessary for human life on Mars.

ROLE: SATELLITE POLICY ANALYST

SpaceX is at the forefront of deploying Starlink, the world’s most advanced broadband internet system, leveraging our extensive experience in rocket and spacecraft development. As the largest satellite constellation globally, Starlink provides fast and reliable internet to over 10 million users worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all facets of this innovative system, including thousands of satellites, consumer receivers for immediate connectivity, and the software that integrates everything. The potential global impact of Starlink is immense, and we are seeking top-tier analysts to join our team as we expand and enhance our constellation.

As the telecommunications industry is heavily regulated, this role will involve advising SpaceX on policy advocacy to ensure that regulations support and protect our groundbreaking services. You will utilize your expertise to advance Starlink’s licensing and spectrum positions before U. S. and international regulators and governmental bodies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Secure necessary authorizations and spectrum access for Starlink, managing the licensing and approval process from start to finish.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to anticipate future needs and position the company accordingly.
  • Influence broadband, ground infrastructure, and spectrum policies that foster SpaceX’s business goals and Starlink’s success both domestically and globally.
  • Provide insights on relevant laws, regulations, and policies affecting the business, developing plans to achieve our objectives.
  • Represent and advocate for SpaceX’s positions with regulatory agencies, legislatures, and regional organizations.
  • Draft advocacy documents, including letters and pleadings, to support SpaceX’s policy initiatives.
