Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree in education or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred. Texas Principal certification is preferred.3-5 years of experience as a principal leading schools that serve a similar demographic as KIPP Texas; experience in school improvement is highly desirable. At least 2 years of experience as an Assistant Principal or in a comparable school-level leadership role with a proven track record of fostering significant academic growth. A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience is required. Demonstrated success in leading teams to accelerate student progress in transformation settings.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a School Leader, you will be instrumental in fulfilling KIPP Texas's mission to foster joyful and academically enriching environments. You will collaborate closely with staff, students, and families to implement impactful school improvement initiatives that align with KIPP Texas's overarching objectives for healthy educational institutions. Your leadership will encompass managing, coaching, and developing instructional and support staff, ensuring every student has access to a nurturing learning community geared towards equipping them with the skills necessary for their future, with a strong emphasis on fostering a college-going culture.

In partnership with regional leadership and statewide departments, you will employ systematic approaches and resources to optimize student enrollment, streamline school operations, oversee finances, and manage talent effectively. This role is a perfect fit for a dynamic leader with a robust background in school transformation and improvement, eager to create an exceptional school marked by academic excellence and joy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a dedicated team to establish a school focused on academic excellence and a joyful atmosphere.
  • Articulate a bold school-wide vision and set measurable goals that align with state targets, driving school improvement and paving the way for students to succeed in college.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive plans to allocate time and resources effectively to meet annual objectives.
  • Embody and promote KIPP Texas's core values, nurturing a community of team members committed to collaborative achievement.
  • Mentor and oversee a school leadership team, including Assistant Principals and other leadership staff.
  • Recruit, supervise, and retain top-notch instructional and support staff across all levels.
