About the Role

Tarsus Pharmaceuticals is on the lookout for a talented and forward-thinking Scientist to join our dynamic Innovation Lab team. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in the design, execution, and analysis of preclinical experiments that drive innovative eye care programs, contributing to our groundbreaking pipeline. You will also assist in the operational setup of our new in-house laboratory facilities.

The successful candidate will oversee external research collaborations with Contract Research Organizations (CROs) and academic institutions while engaging in hands-on experiments within our lab. Collaborating closely with the Innovation Lab team, you will convert unmet medical needs into actionable therapeutic strategies across various ophthalmology disease areas. The ideal candidate will possess scientific adaptability, exceptional project management capabilities, and the proficiency to translate research goals into pragmatic experimental plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute experimental protocols across diverse testing methods, including phantom model testing, cell and tissue culture, and ex vivo experimentation.
  • Facilitate ongoing communication and coordinate activities with external partners (CROs, academic laboratories) under the strategic direction of the Senior Scientist.
  • Collaborate with external partners on in vivo ophthalmology models for efficacy, pharmacokinetics, and toxicity studies.
  • Conduct thorough literature reviews to support ongoing projects.
  • Analyze and summarize experimental data for internal discussions and present findings to the Innovation Lab team.
  • Provide scientific insights and support for cross-functional initiatives as required.
  • Perform general laboratory duties, with opportunities to assume specific responsibilities as the team expands.
  • Stay updated with scientific and medical literature relevant to the therapeutic areas.
