Scientist - Technology Transfer (Onsite in Wilsonville, OR)

Job Description

Join our dynamic Tech Transfer team at Twist Bioscience, where we are dedicated to pioneering and scaling innovative synthetic biology workflows across DNA-based and mammalian cell culture systems. This pivotal role bridges research and development with production, allowing you to facilitate the successful transition of new products and processes into high-throughput manufacturing environments.

In this position, you will be integral in developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting workflows that encompass molecular biology and mammalian cell culture systems, ensuring that all processes are robust, scalable, and ready for production. This role involves hands-on experimental work, cross-functional collaboration, and empowering operational teams through training, technical guidance, and comprehensive documentation.

Collaboration is key in this role, as you will partner with various teams across operations, automation engineering, and bioinformatics to convert innovative ideas into dependable production processes. A significant aspect of this work will involve designing processes with automation in mind, facilitating deployment across an array of liquid handling platforms to support scalable and standardized manufacturing.

We are looking for an individual who combines rigorous experimental methodologies with practical problem-solving skills, and who is comfortable both at the bench and strategically improving processes. Experience in DNA technologies (such as NGS and cloning) as well as mammalian cell culture and protein expression systems is highly desirable.

If you thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment where you can significantly influence how products are developed and delivered at scale, this role provides extensive exposure to cutting-edge synthetic biology platforms and technologies.
