Facilitating and scheduling all Scrum ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Training and coaching team members on agile practices to ensure a uniform understanding and implementation. Managing and refining the backlog, leading productive backlog grooming sessions. Overseeing agile/project artifacts to ensure documentation is current and accurately reflects project status. Tracking project progress and providing leadership with updates and high-level summaries. Executing functional testing of web application features, validating stories against acceptance criteria, and documenting defects with clear reproduction steps.

This is a contingent position. Employment depends on Aretum receiving the associated contract award and successful completion of any required background investigation or security clearance verification.

This remote Scrum Master & QA Test Engineer role supports a federal technology modernization project. The position blends scrum facilitation with quality assurance testing, contributing to both team process and software reliability.

What you will do

  • Facilitate scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and sprint reviews
  • Keep project documentation current and organized
  • Carry out manual and automated testing during sprint cycles
  • Create and maintain test automation frameworks
  • Test for functionality, integration, accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA), and performance
  • Review UI code to confirm accessibility standards are met
  • Execute load and performance tests before key releases
  • Share clear, actionable feedback with developers, product owners, and leadership

Team members may work with Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and must follow all safeguarding and compliance protocols required for federal consulting work.
