The Internal Identity & Access Management (I2AM) team plays a crucial role in overseeing production infrastructure that establishes a foundational understanding of Identity as well as strong authentication and authorization mechanisms across Pinterest. Our backend is mainly developed in Golang and Python, with some components in C++, while our frontend tools utilize React and TypeScript. We are on the lookout for a software engineer who can help us create robust tools to define and assess access controls across our production environment. While a security background is not mandatory, ideal candidates will have familiarity with related domains, such as Infrastructure or Identity.

What you’ll do:

  • Contribute to the technical roadmap for identity and authorization controls for users, services, and AI agents.
  • Design, implement, and maintain essential features that will enable us to provide robust IAM infrastructure and libraries to our clients.
  • Utilize Agentic AI to enhance systems and enforce least privilege principles, applying judgment and verification to ensure accuracy and quality. Enhance code quality and system performance through AI Coding Agents.
  • As a member of the Infrastructure Security team, develop high-performance and resilient AAA (Authentication, Authorization, Auditing) platform controls for various high-traffic services.
