About the job
About Atomic Semi
Atomic Semi is pioneering the development of a compact, high-speed semiconductor fabrication facility.
Leveraging current technology and innovative modifications, we are crafting tools in-house to enable rapid iterations and enhancements.
We are assembling a small but exceptional team of hands-on engineers across disciplines including mechanical, electrical, hardware, software, and process engineering. Our goal is to take ownership of the entire stack, from the atomic level to architectural innovations. Our team is driven by optimism about the future and is eager to push the boundaries of technology.
We believe that smaller and faster is better, and building our solutions ourselves is the way forward.
Our lab is equipped with 3D printers, a diverse range of microscopes, e-beam writers, and general fabrication equipment – and we are committed to inventing whatever we need along the way.
Founded by Sam Zeloof and Jim Keller, Atomic Semi combines a history of groundbreaking work in chip development with seasoned expertise in the semiconductor industry.
About the Role
As a Semiconductor Test Development Engineer at Atomic Semi, you will be integral in connecting process development with electrical testing. Your responsibilities will include characterizing semiconductor devices, designing and automating test infrastructures, and extracting vital electrical parameters to guide process enhancements. This role demands hands-on involvement and strong collaboration with process, test, and design engineers.
We seek a passionate engineer eager to work across disciplines in developing probe cards, designing test structures, performing electrical characterizations, and creating automation frameworks. A solid foundation in device physics and experience with CMOS modeling (e.g., BSIM) will significantly contribute to parameter extraction and feedback into process development.
This position offers the chance to engage with the full testing stack, from test structure design to silicon fabrication and data analysis, helping to shape our validation and improvement processes of CMOS in a dynamic startup environment.
