Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or equivalent certification is preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in a technology or telecommunications environment. Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles. Proficient in ERP systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Intacct. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Position Summary & Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller and will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our general ledger and financial reporting processes. This hands-on position encompasses supporting the full accounting cycle, conducting technical accounting reviews, recording transactions, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, and managing period-end close activities alongside financial statement preparation.

As our accounting team expands, we seek a candidate who excels in a dynamic environment and is eager to embrace greater responsibilities and complex tasks. This role is crucial for ensuring the financial health and accuracy of our systems as we continue to grow.

Responsibilities

General Ledger & Chart of Accounts

  • Own and manage the Chart of Accounts (COA); create, modify, or retire account codes within the ERP system (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Intacct or similar).

  • Collaborate with the Controller to document accounting policies for account usage and mapping.

  • Review ledger activity for accuracy; investigate and rectify coding errors.

  • Assist in transition activities from outsourcing partners and train new team members.

Journal Entries & Technical Accounting

  • Prepare and post complex journal entries, including expense accruals, prepaid amortizations, and lease accounting (ASC 842).

  • Maintain the lease accounting schedule; calculate ROU assets and lease liability roll-forwards.
