About the job
Why This Role Is Exciting
Join Innovatrics and gain access to the tools, context, and trust necessary to excel. Our opportunity-driven roadmap outlines your path for growth, contribution, and impactful engagement during your journey with us.
We are currently seeking a talented senior engineer for our Innovation team, dedicated to exploring cutting-edge biometric ideas and transforming validated concepts into deployable algorithms.
In your initial months, you will delve into...
- Our biometric offerings and research domains, including palm-based applications, face morphing detection, and revocable biometrics.
- The dynamics of the Innovation team, understanding what constitutes a valuable proof of concept and the journey from exploration to internal adoption.
- Existing prototypes, datasets, evaluation methodologies, and the constraints inherent in applied research, particularly when dealing with limited or imperfect data.
As you acclimate to the position, you will begin to contribute by...
- Proposing solutions to complex, vague challenges and validating these through rigorous research and experimentation.
- Creating proof of concepts that empower teams and leaders to make informed technical and product choices.
- Working alongside Software Engineers to package prototypes into demonstrations, while you oversee the machine learning core, evaluation logic, and research results.
Within your first year, you will have the chance to...
- Lead comprehensive exploration streams, from conceptualization to demonstration delivery.
- Impact the research directions that become strategic priorities for Innovatrics.
- Assume technical leadership on select initiatives, including mentoring and establishing standards for machine learning experimentation and quality.
What You Will Help Create
At Innovatrics, we develop biometric technologies for elections, border control, digital identity, and secure onboarding across over 80 countries. Our algorithms have positively impacted more than a billion individuals.
Your contributions will not be lost in a backlog; they will influence real-world systems that have significant importance.
As part of a small team, your ideas will progress rapidly—from concept to demonstration in short cycles.
If you are driven by applied research, practical experimentation, and tackling problems where the solution is not immediately evident, we invite you to join us.
Working Hours & Location
We prefer candidates based in Bratislava or Brno, where our core R&D teams are located. However, we are open to candidates from across Europe, with an expectation of regular travel to our headquarters.
In practice, this translates to approximately 15–20% of your time onsite, typically during demonstration events or closely collaborative phases.
