Role Overview
The Senior Android Engineer will join Reddit’s Android Platform team. This group sets the technical direction for Reddit’s Android app, serving millions of daily users. The team also builds and maintains the development ecosystem, libraries, frameworks, observability tools, and CI systems, that powers every Android experience at Reddit.
What You Will Do
- Shape the architecture of Reddit’s Android app to support growth to 100M+ daily active users. Propose and implement solutions to keep the app reliable and high quality.
- Improve the Android developer experience by building tools, refining workflows, and integrating CI systems for efficient, secure code delivery.
- Set up and maintain guardrails such as lint/static analysis, testing, and AI-assisted reviews to catch issues early in development.
- Develop and enhance client health and observability systems, such as event tracking, traces, and dashboards, to help teams monitor and improve user experience.
- Integrate AI into engineering workflows (including code reviews, static analysis, and CI checks) to increase productivity and app quality.
- Mentor other Android engineers through design reviews, documentation, and sharing knowledge on platform capabilities, observability, and best practices.
