Minimum Qualifications:8+ years of experience in complex, multi-disciplinary design projects. Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited institution. Proficiency in design software including Revit, Rhino, Google, and Adobe Suites. Demonstrated experience leading all phases of design from schematic through construction documentation.

Join ICON as a Senior Architect I on our innovative Design Build team. You will collaborate with a dedicated group of professionals to conceptualize, assess, and implement cutting-edge high-performance buildings utilizing ICON's proprietary technologies. As a pivotal member of our team, you will lead initiatives that redefine sustainable and affordable housing solutions globally. This role is based at our Austin, TX campus, reporting directly to the Senior Director of Building Design.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance ICON’s concrete 3D-printed (C3DP) wall systems to prioritize human comfort, safety, and sustainability.
  • Oversee project teams in creating and aligning comprehensive drawing packages through all design phases, ensuring compliance with ICON’s architectural standards and client specifications.
  • Generate detailed drawings and diagrams that preserve design intent from initial concepts through to construction.
  • Create construction documents, wall assembly blueprints, and building envelope specifications, focusing on window and door systems, waterproofing, and weatherization.
  • Design construction diagrams to streamline the integration of building envelope components and systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) in the field.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, and material scientists to establish best practices for effective weatherization and resilient design.
  • Support experimentation with innovative wall profiles and configurations for future projects.
  • Review consultant drawings to ensure seamless integration between 3D-printed walls and conventional building elements.
  • Work alongside software engineers, print technicians, and construction teams to ensure successful wall construction implementation.
