Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and test electrical hardware for laser and optical subsystems, with a focus on power management, control systems, and signal processing. Develop and maintain schematics, PCB designs, and harness diagrams for laser systems and satellite subsystems. Conduct testing and debugging of electrical hardware to ensure robust operation under diverse environmental conditions. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (software, mechanical, and thermal engineers) to ensure seamless integration and system-level functionality. Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system requirements, design specifications, and test plans. Assist in environmental testing and validation, including thermal-vacuum, vibration, and electromagnetic interference tests to ensure space-qualification of electrical subsystems.

About the Role

As a Senior Avionics Engineer, you will take charge of the design, development, and integration of electrical systems that support our advanced optical and laser satellite payloads. This hands-on position involves working with both electrical and optical components to guarantee the seamless integration of high-power laser systems and payloads for Aetherflux satellites. You will collaborate closely with optical, mechanical, software, and systems engineers to create solutions that adhere to stringent performance standards for space applications.

This role requires in-person attendance at our Seattle, WA office, where you will work on an accelerated timeline and witness your contributions in space during our inaugural space demonstration scheduled for summer 2026.
