Freenet Health is hiring a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer in Austin, Texas. This role focuses on building, maintaining, and improving the company’s Azure cloud infrastructure, deployment systems, and internal environments. The work directly supports backend services, data platforms, and applications used across the organization.
This is a hands-on engineering position. The Senior Azure Cloud Engineer works closely with the Engineering Manager and backend team, ensuring infrastructure is secure, reliable, and meets application needs. All systems must comply with HIPAA requirements, so security and data protection are central to every decision.
What You Will Do
- Oversee the reliability, security, and scalability of Azure environments from development through production.
- Manage deployment workflows, including CI/CD pipelines and production releases.
- Implement identity, access, and secrets management across services and environments.
- Establish and maintain Infrastructure as Code standards for provisioning and operations.
- Design, deploy, and manage Azure resources such as App Services, Functions, VMs, SQL, and Storage.
- Configure networking, DNS, and secure service-to-service connectivity.
- Maintain isolated environments for development, staging, regression, and production.
- Implement secure identity and access controls using Entra ID, managed identities, and app registrations.
- Manage secrets and enforce security best practices, including encryption, access control, audit logging, and HIPAA compliance.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps for reliable releases.
- Implement and manage infrastructure with Terraform or Bicep.
- Set up monitoring, alerting, and observability using Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
- Troubleshoot production issues and work to improve overall system reliability.
- Collaborate with engineers and leadership on deployment planning and architectural decisions.

Requirements
- At least 5 years in cloud engineering or DevOps roles.
- Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in production environments.
