About the job
HUMAN is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Sightline detection engineering team in Tel Aviv. This role focuses on building and maintaining backend services that protect web and API traffic from automated threats. The team works on a real-time detection platform central to HUMAN’s mission.
What you will do
- Design, develop, and support distributed backend services that process hundreds of thousands of requests per second, keeping latency within strict targets.
- Own services throughout their lifecycle: from architecture and implementation to deployment, monitoring, and reliability. Respond quickly to production issues using robust alerting and monitoring tools.
- Advance real-time detection and decision-making features within the Sightline Cyberfraud Defense platform. Collaborate with security researchers, data scientists, and product teams.
- Build and operate services in a Kubernetes environment using a modern GitOps stack. Technologies include Go, Kafka, Redis, MongoDB, BigQuery, ArgoCD, Pulumi, and Crossplane. Plan and execute safe rollouts and migrations.
- Apply AI-driven development practices, using assistants and agents to streamline architecture, automate tasks, and tackle complex debugging and testing.
- Work with other teams to design end-to-end flows that improve security, performance, and user experience.
- Contribute to technical design and code reviews, raising the bar for quality and operational standards.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience developing backend services, with a strong grasp of distributed systems architecture.
- Proficiency in at least one backend language such as Go, Java, or Scala. Solid understanding of concurrency and multithreading.
- Hands-on experience building and managing production systems in cloud environments.
