About the Role
Join our Camera Foundation team, which is dedicated to advancing the software infrastructure of our cloud camera ecosystem. We operate across diverse stacks, including backend, frontend, and embedded systems, and are committed to delivering innovative solutions that cater to the dynamic needs of our clientele.
As a backend engineer on our team, you will play a pivotal role in developing large-scale distributed systems that handle some of the highest query per second (QPS) operations at Verkada. Collaborate with exceptional engineers and tackle complex challenges head-on.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the design and development of high-performance backend systems at scale.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to create, improve, and maintain the software infrastructure for our cloud camera solutions.
- Enhance and optimize the performance of existing software components.
- Mentor and guide junior software engineers to foster their growth.
What You Bring
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a software engineer.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C++, Python, or Golang.
- A robust understanding of scalable backend architecture and the ability to make informed design choices.
- Familiarity with prevalent cloud technologies and services.
- A strong capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team dynamic.
- Willingness to work onsite five days a week.
