The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented Senior Backend Engineer to join our Cloud Platform team, where you will be instrumental in developing the core systems and services that drive Postman’s internal platform. You will design and implement new backend services responsible for deploying, scaling, and managing our infrastructure and product services, utilizing Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate (JPA) alongside cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Istio, and Terraform.
Your contributions will have a significant impact, as the systems you create will be employed across Postman engineering, enabling quicker delivery, improved scalability, and an enhanced developer experience. Additionally, you will have the chance to contribute to open-source projects, extending your influence beyond Postman’s ecosystem.
What You’ll Do
- Design and develop backend services in Java and Spring Boot to enhance Postman’s internal Cloud Platform.
- Architect new services for managing service deployment, lifecycle, and scaling across Kubernetes clusters.
- Implement GitOps workflows (ArgoCD) to facilitate continuous delivery.
- Integrate with cloud-native tools such as Istio, Helm, and Terraform.
- Adhere to robust software engineering practices, including testing, code reviews, CI/CD, and comprehensive documentation.
- Drive innovation by participating in open-source initiatives where applicable.
- Collaborate with Cloud Architects, DevOps engineers, and product teams to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Ensure the performance, reliability, and scalability of the systems you develop.
