Client Overview:
Our client is a prominent Australian FinTech company that specializes in offering a modern platform for business credit cards and expense management. They provide an innovative alternative to traditional corporate cards, aimed at simplifying spending for businesses, reducing time and costs associated with financial management, and enhancing visibility and control over expenses. Key offerings include Mastercard-powered credit cards that can be issued to employees and a spend management platform that enables businesses to monitor expenses in real-time, capture receipts, categorize costs, and automate reconciliation with accounting software. Employees can conveniently use a mobile app to upload receipts and add notes, streamlining the expense reporting process. Importantly, there are no foreign transaction fee mark-ups, and integration with popular accounting software such as Xero and SAP Concur is available. The platform also allows businesses to set spending limits and manage card controls, with users able to earn Velocity Points on qualifying expenditures.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Senior Backend Engineer who will play a pivotal role in driving the implementation of solutions within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. This position requires translating technical challenges into viable business solutions, working alongside cross-functional teams, and contributing to a culture that values open communication and knowledge sharing. Strong technical proficiency and the ability to clearly articulate ideas are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems utilizing Python/Django
- Architect and implement scalable API services and database models
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to deploy and manage services in GCP and Kubernetes environments
- Write clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues
- Contribute to architectural decisions that shape the platform's future
- Optimize system performance and manage technical debt
- Work closely with product and commercial teams to drive innovation and efficiency
