Qualifications

Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Over 5 years of mechanical design experience, with a focus on high voltage battery design in automotive or aerospace industries preferred. Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals including structural design, materials, statics, dynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics. Proficient in CAD software (NX experience preferred), tolerance stack analysis, and 2D drafting with GD&T. Experience in developing components using a variety of manufacturing processes for both prototyping and mass production. Able to utilize simplified tools, calculations, and CAE for efficient development processes. Hands-on experience with prototyping and assembly. Exceptional communication skills across all platforms.

Role Overview

The Senior Battery Design Engineer will lead efforts to design high voltage battery pack components for multiple aircraft programs, including both commercial and defense projects. This role covers the full design process, from initial concept through completion.

What You Will Do

  • Lead design of high voltage battery pack components across various aircraft programs, from concept to final product.
  • Collaborate with CAE engineers, quality assurance, testing, supply chain, and manufacturing teams to ensure strong design and product quality.
  • Provide hands-on support for prototyping, assembly, and troubleshooting throughout the design cycle.
  • Work with integration and certification teams to meet all FAA certification requirements.
  • Develop innovative battery designs tailored to the demands of aerospace applications.
