ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior BOM Engineer for Intelligence Systems (internally referred to as Senior Product Sourcing Engineer) plays a pivotal role in spearheading the strategic development of our supply network and managing costs associated with Anduril’s hardware products throughout their lifecycle. This position involves close collaboration with suppliers and various internal teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and manufacturing. You will take ownership of the entire supply chain for the Anduril Intelligence & Space business line, overseeing engineering support, vendor onboarding and development, as well as sourcing, pricing, and negotiation for the complete Bill of Material (BOM).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Thoroughly analyze engineering Bills of Material (BOM), collaborating with engineering to ensure that designed components can be sourced and procured at optimal cost levels.
- Conduct supplier selections for specific products, utilizing our approved supplier list while also onboarding unique vendors to meet the requirements of the Space & Intelligence business team.
- Enhance on-time delivery rates by implementing innovative solutions to overcome traditional space industry lead times and supply chain constraints.
- Work closely with strategic suppliers to expedite product development through various initiatives, such as:
- Concept scoping to rapidly define requirements
- Feature trade-off analysis
- Should cost and clean sheet modeling
- Joint design development with clear statements of work
- Simulation of mechanical and electronic designs
- Oversee the development and consolidation of the manufacturing BOM, collaborating with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to ensure flexible ramp-up of production both internally and with suppliers.
- Manage the overall program costs, which include New Product Introduction (NPI) and mass production expenses.
