Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field with a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of an active Professional Engineer (PE) license. Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering. Over eight (8) years of experience in bridge design and plan development. Experience with Mississippi Department of Transportation (MSDOT) projects and local bridge design work. Proficiency in design software such as MicroStation, LEAP Concrete/Bridge, MathCAD, and MDX. Familiarity with 3D finite element software like CSiBridge, MIDAS, and SAP2000 is advantageous. Experience in producing plans for transportation structures including bridges, culverts, and retaining walls. Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly in technical report writing. Solid structural problem analysis skills, including the use of design and calculation tools and software.

AECOM is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Bridge Design Leader for our Ridgeland, Mississippi office. This key position involves spearheading current project deliveries while actively pursuing new project opportunities across the state, as well as in regional and municipal areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a senior technical resource and advisor for the engineering team.
  • Provide specialized technical insights for studies and design within the designated area of expertise.
  • Develop and implement study and design procedures to ensure high-quality and cost-effective results.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
  • Create construction cost estimates and assess technical efforts for various projects.
  • Utilize expertise to complete all components of the PS&E package.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings.
  • Prepare detailed technical specification sections.
  • Contribute to the development of engineering budgets and schedules to align with project requirements.
