AECOM is on the lookout for a dynamic, innovative, and driven Senior Business Development Manager - Transportation to join our Indianapolis, Indiana office. As Indiana is a pivotal area for our growth strategy, this role will play a crucial part in enhancing our Transportation business presence and market share. The successful candidate will spearhead business development initiatives to expand our transportation services while overseeing and managing both new and ongoing projects. These projects may encompass planning, preliminary engineering, final engineering, construction support services, and program management associated with transportation or infrastructure projects for a diverse range of clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies for project opportunity capture, including collaboration and positioning for strategic pursuits, and identifying necessary staff resources to successfully win and deliver projects.
- Engage in business development activities such as prospecting and proposal writing, leveraging established relationships with local clients, including the Indiana Department of Transportation and various state and local agencies.
- Serve as a prominent leader and trusted advisor to clients, advocating for AECOM’s values both internally and externally.
- Assist in recruiting top transportation talents across various career levels in areas such as roadway design, transit, structures, and traffic.
- Mentor and manage staff to promote effective project and program delivery and to foster professional growth.
- Oversee project and program administration from inception to contract closure, ensuring specific objectives, adherence to scope, schedule, and budget, as well as risk and change management.
- Exhibit strong analytical, technical, and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Review and approve work performed by others, providing technical expertise for studies and design efforts.
- Deliver complex technical solutions to clients with clarity.
- Participate in the creation of technical proposals, serving as a strong technical resource.
