AECOM is excited to announce an opening for a Senior Civil Design Engineer in our Dublin office.

Your Role:

In this pivotal role, you will take the lead on the Civil Assurance function within the Infrastructure Department, delivering expert technical guidance, compliance oversight, and thorough due diligence for all civil engineering assets. Your expertise will be especially focused on airfield civil infrastructure, ensuring that projects are not only compliant with standards but also functional, efficient, and safe.

You will spearhead the development and implementation of a Technical Assurance Framework for civil infrastructure, coordinating closely with technical teams to assess designs from Framework Design Consultants and Contractors, verifying technical compliance, and ensuring constructability.

As a Senior Civil Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all infrastructure projects adhere to the necessary technical design standards, legislative requirements, and Employer Requirements (ER) throughout the design and delivery phases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver designs and contract documentation in accordance with programme timelines, quality standards, and financial objectives set by the Contracting Entity, while ensuring adherence to best practice governance and control procedures.

  • Conduct technical assurance and due diligence reviews at critical governance stage gates.

  • Evaluate civil engineering requirements across programme projects to confirm feasibility and alignment with the Contracting Entity’s objectives.

  • Ensure that Employer Requirements (ER) accurately reflect client needs and performance specifications.

  • Collaborate with programme teams to guarantee contractor compliance with approved civil designs during construction phases.

Technical Guidance:

  • Oversee civil engineering contributions across programmes, ensuring designs comply with relevant codes of practice, ICAO/EASA standards, and international best practices.

  • Assess project lifecycle costs alongside Commercial and Contract Management teams.

  • Engage in value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.

  • Establish and maintain robust quality management systems for civil engineering design processes.

  • Conduct audits of technical processes and procedures to ensure compliance and quality.
