Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:BA/BS in Civil Engineering or related field plus 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency through education and experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering. PE license in one or more western US states or the ability to obtain it. Experience in business development and client relationship management. Proven experience in designing transit and transportation infrastructure. Proficient in design software such as MicroStation, GEOPAK, and/or OpenRoads. Strong leadership and communication skills, particularly in client interactions. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. In-depth knowledge of Quality Control and Quality Assurance processes for design and project management. Familiarity with MS Office applications.

AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Project Manager - Transit-Rail to join our dynamic team in the Phoenix, Salt Lake, or Denver office. This pivotal role will report directly to the US West Region Transit/Rail Engineering Department.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Project Manager will lead business development efforts, manage transit studies, and oversee the preliminary and final design of transit infrastructure projects, including BRT, LRT, Streetcar, Commuter Rail, Heavy Rail, and High-Speed Rail across the western United States. Our esteemed clients include the Colorado Department of Transportation, City and County of Denver, DART, LA Metro, BART, Caltrans, San Diego MTS, UTA, RTD, and more. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to serve as a team lead, project manager, and/or technical task leader on selected projects, working collaboratively with various teams within the AECOM US West Region.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute moderate portions of a broader assignment under the guidance of experienced engineers.
- Collect and correlate essential engineering data in accordance with established procedures.
- Engage in detailed engineering assignments involving calculations and standard tests.
- Propose solutions to new challenges using adaptations of previous methodologies.
- Identify and address discrepancies in results effectively.
- Provide mentorship to entry-level engineers.
- Complete assigned work in alignment with budget and schedule with minimal supervision.
- Independently handle essential design tasks for engineering projects.
- Demonstrate growth through development in a professional setting.
