AECOM is excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Civil / Highway Engineer to become a vital part of our civil and highway engineering team in Pittsburgh, PA.
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced engineer with a strong client focus who aspires to take on a Technical Leader role, with a clear pathway for growth into leadership. The Senior Civil / Highway Engineer will play a crucial role in developing technical concepts and designs that encompass roadway, traffic control, and drainage components for a diverse array of transportation infrastructure projects. As a member of our AECOM Greater Pennsylvania Area (GPA) team, you will collaborate with over 60 Engineers and nearly 30 seasoned Project Managers across our offices in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and West Virginia, providing you with the support and interaction necessary to advance in your career.
Highlighted current projects include:
I-80 Reconstruction (Jefferson County, PA) - A comprehensive six-mile rural interstate reconstruction project, including mainline widening, interchange ramp enhancements, and the reconstruction of two overhead bridges.
I-70 Reconstruction (Washington County, PA) - A model-based delivery initiative for a six-mile section of rural interstate reconstruction, featuring mainline widening, interchange ramp upgrades, and the reconstruction of 18 structures throughout the corridor.
Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission – Design for toll plaza demolitions at five locations along the western section of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
W Washington St Reconstruction (Bradford, PA) - A model-based delivery pilot project for a one-mile section of urban corridor, which includes full-depth roadway reconstruction, sidewalk improvements, and drainage upgrades.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct engineering, planning, and modeling tasks for all aspects of roadway design projects.
Define the technical scope, work plan, and schedule to support the Project Manager.
Coordinate the technical elements of highway engineering with various disciplines in support of the Project/Design Manager.
Collaborate with fellow engineers, planners, and modelers to research, analyze, or address complex transportation design challenges.
Regularly engage and coordinate with clients and subconsultants on various assignments.
Oversee groups of engineers, designers, and specialists to develop design documents and contract deliverables with minimal supervision.
Ensure roadway designs adhere to contract guidelines and established design documentation.
Provide technical oversight and perform quality control checks on design calculations, drawings, and other contract documents.
Contribute specialized technical insights to studies and development projects.
